DietsmannEnergoremont completes project to restore, repair and modernize three traction substations
The project was financed through the OP “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020.
DietsmannEnergoremont Holding AD has completed the Rehabilitation of the Railway Infrastructure on Plovdiv-Burgas Railway Sections – Restoration, Repair and Modernization of Traction Substations Burgas, Karnobat, and Yambol project. The completion of the project was celebrated at an official ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Mrs. Galina Vasileva, Director of Programmes and Projects Control Directorate at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and Head of the Managing Authority of the OP “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020; Mr. Ivan Bakalski, Head of Development and Management Unit “Rehabilitation of the Railway Line Plovdiv-Burgas, Phase 2” project, State Enterprise National Railway Infrastructure Company EAD; Mr. Ivan Kinov, Manager of the Electric Equipment Division at DietsmannEnergoremont Holding, and Mr. Asen Nikolov, Head of the Regional Division Power Section Plovdiv at the State Enterprise National Railway Infrastructure Company EAD.
The Burgas, Karnobat, and Yambol traction substations provide a rated 25 kV, 50 Hz supply to the sections along the 8th railway line Plovdiv-Burgas.
The project is one of the top-priority projects co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund through the OP “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020. Its successful implementation contributes towards the fulfilment of Bulgaria’s commitments to upgrading its railway infrastructure to EU Standards in compliance with EU’s policy and the sustainable development of the Trans-European transport networks.
The modernized traction substations are equipped with a SCADA system for remote control from the Plovdiv Electricity Dispatch Center, CCTV, a security system, a fire-alarm system, and a system that ensures operation without any on-duty on-site personnel.
The total value of the contract was BGN 20,828,794.80 including VAT. The project implementation included the preparation of a detailed design for the complete restoration, repair, and modernization of the Burgas, Karnobat, and Yambol traction substations in accordance with the technical specifications, dismantling, storing, and transporting of equipment and facilities from the existing substations and handing it over to the Client, the construction of new foundations for 110 kv Outdoor Switchgear, the facilities and metering modules of the MO type PASS MO, and a 25 KV Modular Switchboard for the distribution of the power supply to the relevant lines. A system for dynamic reactive power compensation with smooth adjustment was constructed, all the technological and accommodation premises related to the operation of the substations were reconstructed, the exteriors of the buildings were repaired and windows and doors were replaced. A new container-type building was constructed for the Yambol Traction Substation.
DietsmannEnergoremont Holding AD also implemented measures for environmental protection and ensured healthy and safe work conditions.
The project client was SE National Railway Infrastructure Company EAD. Construction supervision during the construction phase was provided by ET EL TRANS ENGINEERING – VM.
